How to save the environment
By Zeel Patel
Earth is a beautiful place. It is the only planet that has the necessities to support life. Our atmosphere protects us from the Sun’s harmful radiation and our planet is covered in 70% water. However, our Earth has changed. It has become more polluted overtime and it needs our help to save it. Everyone can protect our planet by doing their bit to improve it. Here is a list of easy, quick, and important things that you can do to make a difference and change our environment!
Leaky faucets-120 liters of water is the average amount of water wasted due to water dripping from a non-properly closed faucet. Remember to correctly close faucets to prevent water going to waste. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs- They last longer and save energy.
Use a clothesline - Dryers use an enormous amount of energy. Recycle- This can reuse items to prevent wasting them. Stop junk mail- Every year, about 1 ½ trees add up to the junk mail you receive! Use spell check- This will reduce the amounts of paper you waste from printing repeatedly. Inflate your tires- This can save gas, money and the life of your tires. Don’t throw out good clothes- You can give them to someone else and they will be used again. Plant a tree- Trees create cool air and oxygen. Drive vegetarian- Vegetable oil used to run a car is cleaner, less expensive and safer than petroleum based oil. It can even be produced in your own backyard or locally produced.
